Welcome to The Distance Dose- A Bit About Us

Hi everyone and welcome! We’re so glad you’re here.

We’re Annie and Tyler, and this blog is a space where we’ll be sharing our thoughts, experiences, and pieces of our adventure together as we continue through school— from the difficulties of being pre-med/nursing, challenges of a long distance relationship, and struggles with balancing the two. We’ll try our best to show our perspectives in these paths .

Who We Are and Why We Started This Blog

We wanted to create a space where we could share our thoughts and viewpoints on our dual healthcare relationship. Whether your premed, nursing, etc. any health care major is difficult and being in a long distance relationship adds to the struggle. You can find insights on what we do to juggle school and our relationships to maintain a healthy balance!

This blog is for anyone who is interested in healthcare careers, long distance relationships, or is just curious to see life through our lens.

Annie

Here’s just a little bit about me-

  • I’m currently a undergraduate neuroscience student with a business minor in a dual admission BS/DO program, meaning after I complete undergrad, I have a reserved seat in medical school!
  • I attend school near the ocean so I LOVEEE going to the beach on the weekends, eating, talking to Tyler (he forced me to put this) or working on the blog! (obviously).
  • I’m a national semi-pro soccer referee and played for 13 years.
  • Even though I may be young (some may even say inexperienced), I’ve been on this medicine track since before high school even started, and technically even applied to medical school in highschool- gaining volunteer, internship, and research experience along the way- so I hope you guys find at least one thing helpful from our blog!

Tyler

  • I’m currently in nursing school through a direct admission program looking to become an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
  • My passion for nursing didn’t hit until right before college application season!
  • I don’t know how to ride a scooter ever since I tripped over a pebble trying to learn to ride one down a hill.
  • My perfect day would be with Annie in Bali enjoying an all inclusive resort on the beachside.
